How to turn an origin story into a bio

A practical workflow: interview → proof moments → usable language you can paste into a profile.

Start with proof, not adjectives

A bio works when it sounds like it could only be true about you. That comes from proof moments: specific setting, stakes, decisions, and outcomes.

Collect 3–5 source moments (not “achievements”) you can point to. Those become credibility anchors.

Convert moments into claims

For each moment, write one claim: what it proves about you (taste, judgment, resilience, craft).

Then write the “so what”: why that matters for the person reading your bio.

Ship a bio in 3 blocks

Block 1: identity + current role (1 sentence).

Block 2: origin proof moment (1–2 sentences).

Block 3: what you do now + who it’s for (1 sentence).
